After years of looking and deciding. I found a car (almost) exactly like I want. I have bought it. And it needs work.

The car in question is a 1971 Dodge Challenger. Needs a bit of work to get up to the standard I require. Infact, needs quite a lot of work to even move.

So post links to Mopar Engines. Obviously ignore all sizes except the 440. And recomend me a gear box.

I also need a new windscreen. And some nice new wheels.

There's a lot more parts required, and I will let you know how I'm doing with Pictures.

I know you're all interested.

P.S - I have just bought a car, even though I can't work again until March and I am as Skint as I have ever been. Including the day of my birth. Send Donations via paypal.

440's are nice but hemi's are faster (and about three ribs more expensive).

You know made the right choice when you're drooling while fantasizing and at the same time have nothing to eat.

Well... I could purchase a Hemi.

I had a website where they sold different engines. But I lost it.

I also want the wheels off the white 1.

Someone teach me about choosing a gear box?

Regarding the 440 ci engines, there were two offered: the four-barrel Magnum (rated at 375 hp) and the triple-carburated Six Pack (rated at 390). Then, there's also the 426 Hemi (rated at 425 hp). All three engines came with TorqueFlite automatic transmissions and had four-speed stick shifts and limited slip differentials as options. You're probably going to want something along those lines.

Some nice engines on there. I like the supercharged and polished Hemi. I am tempted. But $35,000 before they ship it to UK, may be too much to spend.

Maybe I'll get a 440 or something second hand. While I spend my money on the rest of the car. Then eventually get a mad engine.

Or I could buy this 1, http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/122/products/614/610HP-528-Hemi-Mopar-Performance-Crate-Engine.htm, now as it is a reasonable price. It would be handy if I knew of a UK supplier though. Who could then fit it in my car and make sure all the parts are suitable.

i wouldnt bother with the supercharged 540s just yet. because those are straight race engines. the n/a 528 seems pretty good. youll be able to run it on pump with no problem.

not feelin em wheels on the white car u shown.. personally if u gonna get a classic u gotta keep it classic, but its all personal choice so hope u make it how u like it.. good luck

I know what you mean. But I wanna modernise. Not necessarily with chrome wheels, but they're an option.

But definately update the steering, suspension, brakes and ignition.
