I am a little worried

What's with the "cheers" thing? Is that an English thing? Lol.

Anyway, hope you feel better. :p

I've experienced something similar to this. The Doc sent me to the hospital and I had a Small Bowel Meal (where you swallow this white chalcky stuff and then have several X-rays), and a camera shoved down my throat to look in my tummy (I forget what they called it).

Turns out I have IBS - whether or not it was related to my stomach producing too much acid I don't know. I'm cool now but I am sure to eat better and not leave too long a time between meals.

lol

It's Barium meal.

And the camera in the throat is colonoscopy. One up the other way, is called an endoscopy.

Lesson over.

i hope you feel better over the long weekend katie.. when you told me you werent well i thought it was just a bug.. but it sounds like an ulcer or something.
dont waste too much time at the GP, you could spend weeks with them and not get anywhere before they send you to a specialist. try and see one as soon as you can..
rest up lots (i know ur sick of hearing that!) :p

Cheers everyone. well i have my appointment for my ultra sound, 6th july!!! I am feeling better a lot better today! Will just have to wait and see what happenes.

Katarina, it must have been really hard for you to rehabilitate, i can't even begin to imagine what you went through but it must have been a horrible thing for you to go through, well done you for getting the help you needed to rehabilitate :) :thumb:

Well I have finally had the results from my ultra sound, and they have found nothing! I am not feeling any better, can never make any plans to go out because i don't know how i am going to feel, have spent most of the last weekends since i started this thread in bed, i am at my wits end, i have just had enough with feeling ill all the time it is really getting me down. i was hoping they would pick up something on the ultra sound at least then they could give me something to treat it.

I am going to dr's on friday morning to tell him i am still no better, anyone have any ideas what is wrong with me? or what to say to my dr without wanting to swing for him? i have just had enough of feeling like this

seems like all a doctor does these days is give you prescription drugs and refer you to other specialists. sometimes they seem a bit useless to me

^ i know tell me about it, i am at my wits end, i have had to put up feeling like this for nearly 2 years and i still don't know what is wrong with me!

if i was a dog i would have been put down by now, lol!

thats the best advice. vinegar shits on ant acids.

by the way k69atie, you need enzyme therapy to cure you

Well I have been back to the dr, and I know have to have a camera down my throat to look inside (dunno what the medical term is as i cannot spell it!) so have to wait for an appointment, which will probs be months!

Colonoscopy

I'm an old hand. Act like your scared (although I weren't acting) and they give you 3 times as much valium/morphine intraveniously. Well my doctor did. I never enjoyed an examination so much.

I doubt you are producing too much acid in the stomach. That's very rare. Sounds like you have a problem with the protective mucous lining of the stomach. It's not adequate, thus exposing underlying stomach tissue to stomach acid. In other words, it's not that you have too much acid, it's just going where it doesn't belong.

Aloe vera will help heal it and reduce inflammation. You can get it in a health food store as a liquid. Take a few times a day. Your doctor will know nothing about it so don't even bother him with it.

Licorice root tablets will help heal the lining too.

Papayas or papaya juice is also helpful.

Avoid chocolate, coffee, alcohol, fried or greasy foods, hot or spicy foods, citrus fruit (unless sweet), tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, and aspirin.

If you don't have a problem with the lining of the stomach, then you have a problem with your lower esophageal sphincter. That's the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach. If it's not closing properly, acid is escaping into the esophagus, and once again, it's just going where it doesn't belong. The same foods I mentioned cause the esophageal valve to relax which then lets the acid go where it shouldn't. So you should still avoid those foods as much as you can until your doctor works out a treatment that corrects the problem, which they rarely do. From my point of view, the correct treatment is to avoid those foods, either forever or at first, and then test foods and amounts to see what you can tolerate. And, btw, smoking is very bad for this, so don't.
