How much do you spend on haircuts?

Well, i like taking care of myself.
Especially this business which i'm starting up, requires me to be all neat and tidy, otherwise my new clients won't give me that element of trust which i require.

Nothing wrong with looking neat of course, i'm not free of some vanity myself, but it's just a lot of money for a haircut.

What business you puttin together, though? Hair salon? :p

Nah it's not a hairsalon. I can't really tell since right now everything is in trial version and the feasibility study, marketing plan and business plan are still in the process of being written. It's like a consulting agency, but all the consultants hired now are in training and taking up cases for free. Really hard to explain.

And haircut being a lot of money, trust me, if it wasn't worth it i wouldn't do it. I'd pay 100 bucks for the head massage alone. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo good.

Why the sad face? That's well cheap!!!

Because I can't understand how the fuck most people (mainly guys) are spending upwards of 40 quid on a HAIRCUT. Sssh sometimes I just get my mate to use his razor for free lol.

£10 & half of that is a tip.

Should cost more but I know the guy so he does my hair for peanuts but I give him a cool tip so it's all good.

I spend $5 or about £3. And what the hell is up with these tips anyway?
Because they dont get paid that well and they have to deal with noisy kids and fat people with smelly unwashed hair.

If we exclude when your mate does it, don't you tip?

I'm cheaper than cheap but I still tip the barber!

No. I pay my 7 or so euro and get up outta there. My barber's sound and all but I'm usually too skint to tip him even if I wanted to lol.

People saying they don't understand why some men pay so much. Why?

And why should Women pay more? Their hair isn't in some way different is it? Made out of Teflon or something?

It depends what type of cut you have. If you get your head shaved. Then you should spend no more than $10 or £10. If I have a shaved head I do it myself.

However if you get highlights or you get your hair styled in a salon then it's going to cost more. Depending on the Salon it could cost £100 just for a cut. For either men or women.
There's more pressure on men to have decent haircuts these days and so they end up paying more. Most men still have a simple cut that takes 15 mins though, and get it done at the barber. that's why they only pay small amounts. But how often do they cut their hair, far more often than those who get cuts at Salons, especially women.

Also why do people with thicker hair, (black people) need a more specialist hairdresser than white people? Again it doesn't take more skill to do a cut for black people. Maybe the simple white people cuts are easier, I don't know where you lot live, maybe in your towns/cities everyone has the same haircut, butr where I come from the better cuts take a lot longer and need a lot more skill than say cornrows or an afro, or just triming the lines and keeping the back and sides short. It's a different skill, but a smiliar skill. Although I know in the UK there's a shortage of hair specialists for black people.

Anyway, I pay £10 to my matey. lol
