How Far Would You Go?

So yeah, how far would you go for fashion?

Would you wear the latest and greatest just to look good and fit in?

Or do you have to feel comfortable in what you are wearing?

Are you a trend-setter? Or do you wait around and follow what other ppl seem to be wearing?

When you're going out to a club or a party or whatever do you ever call your friends first and find out what they're wearing? And if so why?

Just cus I'm interested...

I try and keep us with fashion if I can, yet it's unrealistic for me to do being a uni student with no money. Luckily they have cheaper stores which have good looking stuff without the big price tag.

Often I wish I was less focussed on fashion and could be comfortable wearing whatever. I am too superficial and uncomfortable with myself in that regard to do that though. So I do tend to look around at what everyone else is wearing, what's in store and decide what I like, dont like, what suits me etc.

I dont usually ask my friends what they are wearing, sometimes we might ask just so we know if we are going casual or dressy or whatever, but I think we all have different tastes so make our own decisions.

Ultimately, I like to feel like I am wearing something that looks good and hopefully others think so too, yet I am cautious of the fact that often the most fashionable things look silly after a while, especially if you look back on it in the years to come. So sometimes it's better to stick to classic lines or things that you know suits you - cant go wrong like that!

I dont follow fashion, i wear what i think looks funky an fresh! if someone says so and so is coming back in fashion, i wont buy it! I have my own ideas what cool clothes are, and i rarely make mistakes! I know what clothes are hip. :)

I'm usually 1 of the first to wear a particular type of clothing or brand. I then tend to stop wearing it before the masses do.

I wear what I feel comfortable in. I'm not a slave to fashion and won't wear something I dislike because it's fashionable. I hate people who try too hard to be fashionable and end up making some horrible outfit. I see loads of the little clones in Windsor at the weekend.

I was wearing Evisu jeans 7 years ago for example. As soon as I saw the jeans for sale in shops in my area and people start to wear them, I stopped. Snobby I know. Now you see them everywhere and 80% of them are fakes from ebay.

I'm not a trend setter at all, I wear what's cute at the time and what's "in."

I've been told I have great fashion sense, but I guess it's just because I match the outfits up exactly how I would want to see them in the catalogs that they mail to my home, lol

I like to feel that my clothes are sort of "in", but I wouldn't wear something just because it's trendy. Also, if i'm not comfortable with it, no way I'm wearing it. No matter how fashionable it is. Over the course of summer, I've sorta changed up my style. I went to Bosnia and kind of got a sense of what they like to wear, more tight jeans and shirts, and I've bought some stuff. Nobody dresses like that here, but I know it's fresh. I find it funny when dudes in baggy clothes, wearing dress-length Tees and Jerseys say, "Dude, that shirt is lookin a lil too tight on you."

i'm actually a trend setter, but i do not want to be one!

i used to be the only one wearing the Lacoste polos...now everyfuckingone has one

last june, i got myself those handbands or whatever with a message on it, i leave for the summer, when i come back, everyfuckingone has one... now i got myself those "stand up speak up!" ones so nobody can have those in North America...

I hate fashion with a passion

LMAO, I know, lol :p

They have that bad down south, not only do they rock their T's big as hell, like 3x, but then they buy the extra long too, it looks so stupid to me, lol :)

I like my clothes fitted. That's the style in UK. But then I don't wear any of the Hip-hop brands. Or hip-hop influenced clothes. With fitted clothes you can see my rippling, erm, bones.

I wear what I like, I don't give a fuck. Although, I see certain people wear something on tv and I think it's a good idea for myself. Often influenced by Kanye & Diddy.

Yeah I pretty much tend to wear what I like and what suits me. Not everything I like looks great though :(

It really annoys me though if me and my friends are going someplace and they call and ask what I'm wearing, like not exactly, just colours and styles. You'd think they'd be asking so that we don't wear the same but oh no we get out and I then realise that we look like some made-for-tv girly band.

Because this annoys me I asked my friends, well three in particular, what the deal was and why we all gotta look the same, even as far as hairstyles, and they said that it's so we match and don't clash lol, what can I say to that?

i aint got time to be a sheep, i buy what i like, dont really care if its in style out of style out of season in season, fuck colors and seasons.

Nice attitude, colours are seasons

I wonder if in some sense it is easier for guys - it's either pants, shorts, t-shirt or shirt. Whereas girls can wear all of those things plus skirts, dresses etc. I mean did you ever hear of a guy that didnt look good in a t-shirt? Shit no. Lol. But with so much diversity in women's clothes, you have to be quite particular about finding something that suits your figure. Or that could all be bullshit and a relevant excuse for some of us being too fussy. lol.

Nope you're definitely onto something there. Like you said with guys they either wear smart trousers to a club or jeans if allowed. And yeah either a shirt or a t-shirt. Its not exactly difficult. Plus I don't think guys would really care about what other guys are wearing, they just wanna look good for the ladies.

I'm going out this week-end and I have no clue what to wear, be it trousers, jeans, hotpants, cropped trousers, cropped jeans, skirt, dress. I'm thinking dress cus at least then I won't have to think about what top to wear!

Damn its hard being a woman :(

Yeah, I wonfer if they do take note of what other guys are wearing. Probably not. I know I am quite conscious of what other girls look like. More than anything though, I just take an interest, I'm not necessarily rating them or comparing or anything. I just like clothes I suppose.

I think a dress would be good. Seems like people dont wear them enough, or at least I dont. I'd like to see them come back into fashion in a big way. There doesnt seem to be enough in the stores. You know though, if there is one article of clothing that a woman can never go wrong with (and i'm sure 99% of women's magazines would agree with me here) it's the little black dress. Classic. Cant ever go wrong!

i'm rambling. :(

Yeah I take note too, I kinda make mental notes to myself of what to wear and what not to wear. I hope the girls don't think we're checking them out!

I'm not a lover of black to be honest, I just find it dull and boring. But there is always an occasion that crops up for a little black number, and that's probably why I have about 10 black dresses hanging in my wardrobe (wasting valuable space come to think of it).

I have never noticed straight guys checking out what other guys are wearing though I have to be honest.

Although the other night me and my bf were watching Kanye West on a TV Show and I just happened to ask him 'Wow, isn't his jumper gorgeous?' and he said 'Yeah it is nice, I wouldn't wear it though'. His reason for not wearing it was because he thought other guys would take the piss, so I dunno maybe there is some pressure for guys dressing to impress.
