some shithole
My boss wanted to make a website to advertise the business a little more, and instead of paying someone to do it I thought I would have a crack.

I don't have the first idea of where to start though..? Is it that difficult or should I just not bother?

It depens on what you wanna do. If you want a "real" website, it's hard and nothing for someone that has no idea about it (Login, member area, forum, whatever, that kinda of stuff). If you just want to put some informations online (without any interactions on the site), it's easy. But then again you could use myspace etc, what other people suggested and not bother with HTML, php etc.

If you want to know about webprograming anyway, look for a html tutorial first.

If it's going to be a company website you should not bother unless you want it to look like this:
A Lame Website

However if you're a noob the website posted above would take you a few hours to do in HTML anyway.

You'll need a program like Frontpage or Dreamweaver to start with, and at least a basic understanding of HTML.

And probably Photoshop to do the image editing

Give me £50 and I'll do it for ya.

I do this at Uni. :thumb: I hate using dreamweaver though. i actually prefer doing the coding myself :wondering:

Here's how you do a website for your boss...

1. Tell him you have everything under control and you will do it in a nick of time.

2. Find a Indians or a Japanese to do it for you for cheap.

3. Tell your boss you finished the thing and take all the credit.

Edit: You already have two Indians who will do it for you...

No member area or anything like that, just a simple site where people can go to check out pictures of some of the work we have done and maybe leave a comment or something. Contact details etc

Inst myspace a lil lame for a business site though?
