...if it wasn't for this idiotic 911 operator.

Apparently this happened earlier in the year, and the boy was on The Today Show telling his story.
A 5 year old boy called 911 to say his mother had collapsed and all the operator told him was that she was gonna send the police over there because he was playing on the phone. Over an hour later noone had arrived so he called back and the operator told him he needed to put an adult on the phone and quit playing on it. She still never dispatched an ambulance, only the police and his mother was dead when they arrived, 3 hours later. Now they're saying his mother could have lived had the operator sent someone when he called the first time. All they did was discipline her, because of her years of service, she wasn't fired. Sounds like a lawsuit to me.

Yes it's fucked up. When a child calls 911 and he's telling you his mother is passed out, you should never second guess him. Whether you think he's playing or not, you still send someone over there immediately. If he is playing, then the police will tell him about playing on the phone when they get there. As an emergency dispatcher, it's not your job to reprimand children for playing on the phone, that's the police's job. Your job is to treat every call as if it's serious and get someone to the scene right away. What really got me is that she wasn't fired. I don't give a damn how many years she'd been there, her ass shoulda been fired. I'd sue her ass AND the dispatch for that shit. Being a mom myself it makes me wonder if anything happened to me and one of my kids called 911 what they'd do. But we have a pretty good dispatch center here, they at least send the police out to every call. I have a police scanner and I hear things like that on there everyday. Even if someone calls 911 and hangs up, they'll call the number back to determine what's going on and even if it's just a kid playing on the phone, the police will go to the home anyway.

Damn.

some1 i knew got shot on the town border line and some1 called the police/ambulance and each town thought the other town was going. And the guy bled to death.

Maybe you should be shot in your face for sounding like Bugs Bunny, but we all don't get our way though.

lmao bitch said that she didnt understand him. I Heard the tape ho I heard it. stop makin excuses the thing is unacceptable. 'my mama passed out' 'Son, put your mother on the phone NOW before i send the police over and youre gona be in trouble' 'ughh' 'STOP PLAYIN ON THE FUCKIN' PHONE. GOOD BYE.

sad shit. and they say nobody came until,,like 3 hours later??

Man I called the police once and just hung up when they answered. I was a little kid, they called right back and asked if anything was wrong, they actaully cared. This shit is unacceptable, if she has been doing the shit for so long and want to hardly disciplince her force her into retirement, that is unnacceptable.

Aw, upset because people can actually understand what I say? Keep trying kid. :thumb:
Naw, i'm actually more upset that I've only recorded 4 tracks and they're all easier on the ears than what you put out. I don't know why that upsets me but it does.

Thing is, Limn can rhyme, and suprisingly your brother can, what happened to you?

Now back to the thread...

It's definitely a massive tragedy, but as always there's two sides to the story. How many 911 callls are hoaxes? It's more than one or two, it's probably hundreds if not thousands per year. The operator obviously had experienced hoax call before and mae the wrong decision due to that. Most people would.

It was mentioned why not send an someone over anyway and if it was a hoax tell the kid off? Well picture this scenario. What if it WAS a hoax and the snet someone over. Meanwhile somewhere else, a seriously injured person dies due to the emergency services being sent over to the hoax call. Then people would complain about the operator being and idiot for listening to a three year old kid. So she's fucked either way. And being realistic, the above scenario has probably happened, and these experiences, and here information on the situation, lead to the operator making the decision she made.

I think the real problem is all the cunts making hoax calls. If these idiots didn't do what they do, then guarenteed this trajedy wouldn't have happened (or at least the emergency services be sent earlier).

^true, BUT:
how could a kid call for help ? it was smart enough to dial 911 and call again after nobody showed up.
you could argue the kid should have called a relative or gone over to the neighbours ... but keep in mind, its 5(?) fucking years. it clearly is the operators fault. operator is in charge and has the responsibility.
