SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Hip-hop singer-songwriter Joseph "The Governor" Flowers claims Interscope Records used his tune, "Po' Nigga Bluez," as the basis of a remix on the late Tupac Shakur's posthumous album "Loyal to the Game."

Flowers says he wrote "Po' Nigga Bluez" in 1990 and included it on his 1995 album, "Floss Mode," with Shakur performing in the background.

Shakur's version is called "Po' Nigga Blues-Scott Storch Remix featuring Ron Isley." Flowers says he became aware of it in March 2008, nearly four years after its release. He demands statutory and punitive damages from Interscope Records and Universal Music, and wants their version taken off the market.

Flowers is represented in Federal Court by William Weiss.

The Gov has to be pushing 40 years old by now. He has to be doing this for money. But he probably should be listed a writer since he appeared on the original version.

and kobe u shouldnt say he said pac ripped his rap. he just saying he aint got paid for his song being remixed

all tho he more than likely is doing this for money since i heard he was pocket checking since he been out lol

Lets not forget 'LTTG' wasn't exactly on everyone's mind for the right reasons. I listened to the LP 'Pac's Life' two years after its release :noworry:

I apologize for: "saying he said that 2pac ripped his rap". I just took the headline that was on the article and put it onto the forum as the thread topic. :oh:
