i think it was a good remix,to be honest pac is weak on that track and the beat and hook make it worth listening to,the last 4 bonus remixes on lttg are hot dont know why people are knocking them

I don't like this song because it seems like a glorified studio scrap. Pac's verse doesn't save it. It's a decent song, but it seems too incomplete for something that's released. I like the beat. Lyrically it's lacking.

seriously though. the way he flows annoys me. he chops up every sentence, it doesn't quite flow like most of his other songs. there's something about it i just can't place, something about the way he raps his verse, i just hate it. it could even be that the way he raps his verse doesn't fit the rhythm of this beat, because the original sounds a LOT different and has a completely different vibe. and a different rhythm.
to add to that, the song is about a liqour brand. i mean come on lol. it's a song about his favorite alcoholic drink. it's an insult to his catalogue. even toss it up is deeper than this song. and tell me what "i maintain in the game, in the gutter's where i still kick it, tryna hustle up a meal ticket" has got to do with hennessey and i'll admit i was wrong and retract my statement. (you are not meant to respond to this, it's something i say to underscore a point, please don't write a post about how a lot of pac songs have lyrics that aren't in direct relevance to the song title.)
on thug passion he flows better, i like the beat more, and it fits the aeom album more than this song fits lttg. in that context it's not a shame to his catalogue, but it's nowhere near his best tracks.HellRazor05 said:

listen, i'm as much a pac fan as anyone else here. i'm not trying to discredit him, i'm just saying that hennessey is one of his worst tracks in my honest opinion, lyrical content-wise, flow-wise and music-wise.

with so many good tupac songs, how can people regard the red spyda hennessey remix so highly as you do? if anyone can explain to me what is so good about it in technical terms, i'll be willing to reply to them constructively. by technical terms i mean that "THA BEET IS BOMB!1" and "it a dope track mayne" isn't good enough. if you like the beat, fine, maybe that's why you like the song, because i don't really like the beat that much. but point out and quote parts of pac's verse that are above average, shit that moves you or otherwise can be experienced as, like i said, above average. or admit that pac's verse is nothing special and say you like it because of how it sounds. which was basically my point from the beginning.

the only thing i don't care for is the mastering. listen to the pre-mix and then listen to retail. the song sounds flat and all midbassy. there are minimal highs except for the triangle.
