Hoping that some1 could help,

I was stupid enough to right click one of my rar files and select open with. Now none of my rar files that i download work I am wondering how I can change it back so that they work agian. I'm using windows xp so if any1 can help me out it would be much appreciated thnx in advance

I don't understand? You selected "Open With", which should provide you with a list of programs to open it with...then what?

And what do you mean when you say they don't work?

I selected open with rartoolz and now the file has changed it like the file extension has changed or somthing ive tried loads of stuff to change it back but it wont work. the icon for rar files has now changed its really hard to describe now none of my rar files work:fury:

Right click the rar, go to properties, and where it says "opens with" change it back to Winrar or whatever the hell you have.

goto start > control panel > folder otions > file types > find rar and change it there

do you have extensions , if so , change it back to .rar

finally got this guys I was using some shitty rar file program not winrar and took my pc to work. the it guy at work uninstalled it copied all my rar files to the server and insalled the real winrar and then copied all my rar files back and hey presto working again
