Technology Help.. my computers sound went echo

Suddenly went echo everytime i try to play music or watch a movie. i wana make it back to normal. I did something with msn messenger. i had my webcam on and this wizard came up to unmute the mic. but i got the mic on my sound control muted, its still echo.

do you have windows xp.

go to start,programs,accessories,system tools, then go to system restore. restore the computer back to a date when the sound was working fine. it should work then.

if you installed some new stuff,i think you have to reinstall them again.
