I heard there was an og to "Drop A Gem On Em" where Mobb Deep actually mention 2Pac's name. But I heard once after he died, they took his name off the record. How true is this?

Yeah i remember hearing that rumor back in 96. An example is a part wwhere Prodigy says "Clock's ticking, ya days are numbered in low digits" was originally "Pac's ticking days are numbered", but i never actually heard another version to confirm it, so who knows. But the album was pushed back from it's original release date i remember, so that may have meant they re-did stuff

i think there was info bout on mobb deep's concert back in 05 that they played hail mary beat and turned into drop a gem on em with disses or such.

I don't understand Mobb Deep at all. Hitemup did some serious damage to them if they are still dissing. Prodigy was on a mixtape talking about "I only loved 2pac after his death, but man if we bumped heds we/he/or it would've been a mess" I'm not sure about the part where I got slashes.

And about a week ago on the radio, I think I heard a havoc verse where he says something about you go at the mobb and see what happen, you seen what happened to pac, you seen what happened to mike.

I'm not too sure about the names he dropped because I was listening to the radio half asleep, but I was pretty sure I heard pac's name which caused me to be alert, but the dj never played it back.

well if he mentioned pac and mike I'm assuming he meant tyson, and talking about chicks claiming rape

Does anyone in here actually know when "Hitemup" was released as video and or single? And also does anyone know when "Drop A Gem On Em" hit mixtapes, since I heard it hit mixtapes?

I don't know if he was talking about that. I think Mike was some dude that managed Mobb Deep and aired them out on radio when rumors were going around that Mobb Deep was going to break up. But I'm not even sure about that guy's name.

The point is I or no one shouldn't speculate until I listen to the radio again and listen out for that song to get the names down.

I dunno if they mentioned his name, but whether they did or not,its an obvious diss to 2Pac.The fact that they released this on Hell On Earth shows that they are bitches.but then again controversy sells records,so maybe the record company pushed for it to be included.

What disses are on Bloodsport?

Drop A Gem On Em came out on Hell On Earth after Pac's death, and they didn't need to say his name because it's obviously about him. And since they put the song out anyway, they didn't really need to go back and edit it or they would have removed it entirely.

Havoc's comment was about chicks claiming rape, specifically that Pac started to make them sign consent forms after the charge. They reference it in a lyric from one of their tracks (but I forget which one).

Nothing on Bloodsport makes me think of it as a Pac diss, or a diss to anyone else in particular.

hit em up was released on the how do you want it single, back in late 95 or early 96 i wanna say
Try MID 1996... June 4. I still remember when MTV first reported about that song. They played part of the outro in their MTV News Brief (ten to the hour, every hour)--bleeping out the cuss words, of course--shortly after the maxi-single hit shelves.

I don't really think that Bloodsport was intended to be a diss to Pac. The lyrics are too general.

There were parts in that track where Biggie explicitly called Pac out, but those were removed at some point. But it's clear that there are specific Pac disses still in it.

That's way too general. If you think that's a Pac diss, then you must think the Mobb dissed him hundreds of times, because that's what all of their songs are like...
