has anyone here gotten cosmetic surgery done on them?

I dont get how people say its so unnatural to have surgery, yet they dont mind when women wear a ton of make up, color their hair, or kids wear braces to straighten their teeth of have corrective surgery for birth defects. Thats all unnatural too, in fact all medicine is unnatural if you think about it.

And ive felt fake breasts, purely for educational purposes nothing sexual, and they seemed real enough to me.

At the end of the day those things can be reversed, with surgery its perminent, also, what happens when a chick with breast implants gets old.

Hey this is a stupid question but arent there men that pay for surgery to make their penis bigger?

I edited my post. Braces for teeth are not pernament, niether is corrective surgery for birth defects. If someone is born with small breasts and they desperatly want large ones, thats a birth defect too in their eyes and plastic surgery is corrective surgery.

I have small boobs but i dont consider it to be a birth defect.

Congradulations.

I never said you did, or all women did, I said women who desperatly want large breasts. As in they are desperate, and not happy at all with their figures, and they curse their smaller shape.

You're mad she's beautiful :thumb:

I think when it comes to plastic surgery you have to think about is it something you really need? Usually it's just something you want, like someone else said having surgery might not make you feel any better.

In some ways it will boost your confidence tho. But I've heard of cases of people getting something done then wanting more surgery, and I think we can see that by looking at many celebrities lol.

waste of money IMO...it's one thing if you were deformed in an accident or fire or something, but just to fit a little betetr in your shirts? nah, not worth it

Damn AmericazMost is mad funny with the MJ mention. Also I have a birthmark under my right foot but I didn't take out because I don't need to. BTW it really looks gangsta because I have it on a very odd place. BTW Amara why would you need surgery when you're already beautiful looking by being natural?

Peace

Aww that's nice of you to say, I think you and ChuckTaylor are being too kind. I guess no-one ever "needs" surgery though and I agree with salty, you should be able to love yourself the way you are, but in this society, you are taught to expect too much - it's hard not to want to be what the media tells us we need to be. The thing is, when people look in the mirror all they see are their own flaws. For instance, nail polish, who started this thread, if we looked at her, we wouldn't see "mushroom ears," we'd see her for the beautiful girl she is.... yet we are conditioned to criticise ourselves because of some abstract notion of beauty and perfection that will always seem out of our reach...and I blame society! lol.

True Amara, but it's simply because people are just basing and judging on the outside but the thing is you got to look at one's inner beauty to truly realize what one could be missing. Anyways I'll try to stop being off-topic else Rukas could be starting to ban some cats now.

Peace

That's not off topic though, the relationship between society and the self are very relevant to the topic of cosmetic surgery. All the talk of "inner beauty" is all well and good, but, say a girl is walking down the street, are guys whistling at her "inner beauty?" The ads on tv and the pictures on billboards, are they advertising "inner beauty?" When you go up to a girl in a club or whatever, are you approaching to inquire about her "inner beauty?" No.

We live in a superficial society, and whilst one's personality and inner qualities may be important to sustaining relationships with people and whatever, ultimately we have no choice but to base our judgement on the purely physical. We may not like it that way, but it is the reality and I don't think it will ever change. We can crap on about personality till the cows come home, but things will never change, they'll probably only get worse.

btw, Chuck, I am from SA.

Basically what you're saying is true Amara but also don't generalize about all guys saying that they all whistle for girls and look for what's appealing to their eyes, there are exceptions to the rule. But other than that, it's true that they are exposing what is visible to the public because that's what sells. Because seriously how can you sell something based on principles and the psychology of things. What I'm basically saying is that it's not because I see that beautiful lady that I'll automatically be attracted by her, well maybe because of the physical appearance. What I want to say is that you have the choice between 2 girls is that people normally go for the prettiest one, but what I do is I try to conversate with both and then you know who you feel better with. So there you go it isn't necessary to go with the physical appearance even though that's what happens most of the times.
