Non-Urban Music Guns N' Roses-Chinese Democracy-This Year?

#1
The rumor mill is starting up again, that since Axl and his cover band are going on the road again, that Chinese Democracy is coming out near the end of this year. To tell you the truth, I would go to see them if they just played music from Chinese Democracy, as opposed to GN'R covers. This band is NOT Guns N' Roses, so I don't think they should be allowed to revisit GN'R classics, it gets everybody's hopes up that someday the OG band'll come back together. It ain't happenin'.

That being said, if you dig hard enough on the internet, you can find live or even demo versions of some of the songs from the new record. I myself have found around a half a dozen songs, most of which are actually pretty good. Most people have probably heard "Madagascar" at this point (Axl played it @ the Mtv Awards a few years back), but songs like "Better" and especially "The Blues" are pretty damn good tracks. If anybody else has heard them, what do you think?

Heard the demo's and they are sounding pretty good. I love me some G'N'R. For me Axl is the man, he has that real rock star charisma which is one of the most important things. Sure, Slash, Duff, etc are all AMAZING musicians, but without a charismatic frontman, all you get is a muso - borefest...ie Velvet Revolver.

I'll take Axl and the 'new' G'N'R over a V.R anyday.

I completely 100% agree.

As for your other comments, I have heard some of the new songs, and I liked them, they did sound prety good. I don't know what to really think about the album, I do wan't to hear, but any minute now I'm just waiting for it to get pushed back again.

Izzy showed up!

The 4th night, according to Mtv.com, Izzy showed up for three songs (Kid Rock was a guest singer as well), now I know Slash & Axl back together is a snowball's chance in hell (because both want to play different kinds of music, basically), but I wonder if there's any chance Izzy could work on a few of the guys to rejoin for a show or two.

Slash & Axl back together, even for a one-off tour, would be DOPE, though.

/\ I read that. Apparently Izzy was really happy to be doing it. Don't know about Slash, but Duff would do it I think.

Slash would do it without a doubt. On GNR behind the music, he seemed like he would give anything to get the band back together. Axl went overboard in the 90s with his hopes for the band...he wanted to make pop and techno songs and shit. i think hes wised up since then, eventhough hes still a big baby. a true gnr reunion may just happen one day even if only for a night
