The reason the quality we got on pacs life album version of soon as i get home was because amaru didnt have the orignal good quality of this her self also...or smething along those lines...

The reason there's an ongoing debate about the quality of tracks is that people relate to the term "quality" in different ways.

The original Soon As I Get Home we had for years had a distortion at one point in Kadafi's verse, that was the only actual error in the song we had. Other than that, tapes make recordings sound flatter. So the high-hats and Pac's S's didn't sound as sharp, and the bass wasn't as distinct.

What we have had for years is essentially a tape recording of whatever got put on Pac's Life. No additional mixing was done before the release. The quality is a lot better, the song just sounds very similar because it is.

The reason they didn't f!@k with that track: QD3. Regular people on his message boards kept on asking about 'soon as I get home' QD3 knew what it meant to the fans. He never really thought it would see the light of day. When the song was found, he left it as it was.

^ QD3 had nothing to do with the song getting released in OG form. It was said that they only found the completed track and not the acapella, so they couldn't really remix it.

Maybe in 40 years, on some OG box set from TV Shop.

Even if it was among the acquired tracks (which it's not), Amaru still hold all rights to that song.

Someone's probably gonna get on my ass for saying this, but JJ's death actually increased the likelihood of this song seeing the light of day (from one in a trillion chance to now only one in a billion).
