Got My Wisdom Teeth Out Today

Yeah, it sucks. Doesn't hurt all that bad, more so when you touch it than regularly. Haven't taken any pain medication yet, but then again, I ain't no bitch.

The doc put the IV in fast, which I appreciated, 'cause I hate needles and it gave me no time to think about it. Then they gassed me, and I didn't even realize I fell asleep. I woke up and was gonna try asking them when this stuff was gonna start working. Then I realized they were putting the last stitches in. Then I went hope and slept. The U.S.A. soccer game didn't keep me up.

The worst part is the inability to eat certain things. I really want some pizza right now, but that's not happening.

Well, I'm gonna finish watching Carolina beat up on Edmonton. Take care y'all.

i had mine taken out a few summers ago, it rocked!!! they started to gas me and i was like "man this stuff isnt even doing anything to me" then the doc turned it up a little, with in seconds i had the biggest dumbest grin on my face and was out like 10 seconds later. i remember waking up shortly after while my dad was finishing up some paper work. then i passed out again.

i hated putting those pads in my mouth to stop the bleeding, i used them for a few weeks.

TAKE THE MEDS!!!! you'll love em!!! if you dont want them i'll take them off ya :D

fuck ive been putting off getting my wisdom teeth out, i hate the dentist more then anything, bastards never freeze my mouth enough and that drill hurts like a bitch :)
anyways, would it be more difficult/hurt more to get them taken out with a lip piercing :(

the dentist doesnt take out your wisdom teeth, an oral surgeon does. you arent going to feel anything when they take them out since you will be most likely knocked out. it's pretty rare that they actually keep anyone awake while they prop their jaw wide open and pull their teeth out
 
ahhh wisdom teeth.. Good to hear that yall experiences were good.. mine was crazy!

I got mine done when i was in the army.. For all those in the service or were, yall know that army surgeons dont know shit, no matter their rank.. So I go to the dentist and a Major starts pulling em out..

I knew something was up when after like 20 minutes of them trying to pull it, they pulled out a hammer and said that since the tooth was deep in my gum, they had to crack it into pieces before they could pull it out.. So im like "fuck".. So im in the seat like another 10-15 minutes before they finally get it out.. And when they do, im bleeding like crazy... So the doc says the bleeding will stop in a few, and gives me a perc. perscription..

I walk out to my car and the bleeding got really bad.. Everytime I spit, my mouth would fill up with blood again and i had to swallow a pretty large amount everytime.. So i run back in there and tell the doc that somethings wrong, so they put me back in the chair and found out they dug too deep.. So after another 30 minutes of stitching me up (didnt know they knew how to do that) I finaly leave and go back to my room.. Hour later, I start shitting out blood (i musta swallowed like a pint, no exaggerating.. oh yea, and it comes out dark brown :eek: ) and i felt like i was gonna pass out so i had my friend take me to the hospital.. So happens i lost mad blood and i stayed their for the night to recuperate and so they could watch me..

Then im laying in bed watching tv there, and the left side of my jaw goes numb.. from the bottom left side of my lip and 2 inches towards my sideburns .. To make a long story short, They cut a nerve and I still dont have any feeling there, but good thing i dont notice it at all.. Doesnt affect my life or anything fortunately..And I get 190 bucks tax free a month for the rest of my life cuz its service connected!

But the fucked up thing is that when i got out the service and went to a dentist, he said half the tooth was still in there and im lucky i didnt get a really bad infection... wtf!!!

damn!!! my parents would never take me to the on base dentist. they would always tell me about bad experiences from people they worked with that were in the service and their own bad experience. i think the military does things a little differently for some reason, when it comes to medical stuff...or just about everything. i did go to the base dentists once when i was 5 and my parents were stationed at nellis afb, but it was an emergency.

holy shit.. glad im not going through that
 
i feel your pain. me i had surgery to take them out. they had to cut in and take them out. was scary. that was a year ago. i remember i wasnt supposed to be able to talk but next thing you know its me yelling after my mom on the phone lol. couldnt eat anything other than jello, ice cream and pudding. and i'm an ice cream lover and i just couldnt take the ice cream anymore... it felt just too good when i got for the first time real food which was an hamburger :)
 
^ i've been eating jello, ice cream, scrambled eggs, and clam chowder. i think i've been having it alot better than most. my sister's mad my face didn't swell up like hers did :laugh:

dentist, oral surgeon...they both deal with teeth
i just wanna get my hands on some of those pills and eat jello n shit :)
