i've discovered a small lump near my right breast. It's more towards my armpit and it hurts to touch.

i also have a tiny mole on the same breast that appears to be growing. I can't be sure of this because i have a feeling i might be me being paranoid. The lump is definitley there though.

Now i'm not overly worried but i am going to book a doctor's appointment a.s.a.p. My mum and my boyfriend assure me that it's probably nothing to worry about and i mean, i'm 18. what's the likeliness that it's something serious?

Have any of you experienced anything similar to this or known of anyone who has??
 
I had this same problem not to long ago, I went to the doctor and they said it was a cist (sp?) and it just went down on it's on. It came from wearing tight bra's or something they say.

That's odd, kinda funny when you think about it. Stupid bras.

You can never be too cautious when it comes to things like that Helena. I definately think seeing a doctor asap is the best thing. I havent ever experienced anything like that but if I did, seeing a doctor would be a top priority!

Actually recently my bf read something like this that really worried him .. you know on google you can look at the last 30 searches that have been made or something. Well he did that on his computer and he found a search saying 'small lump near armpit' and another one just saying 'breast cancer'. That's all we know about it tho, it was either his sister or his mum :(
random I know but yeah lol

My best friend's mum had breast cancer before and recently the doctors found a new lump :(

The best thing to do is go to the doctors asap .. I hope it turns out to just be something little :)

yeah i've heard about cysts, hopefully it will be something like that.

I'm making the appointment tomorrow. i don't know how comfortable i feel with my doctor touching my titties though...
 
ive also had cysts, usually get them in my arm pits, bout the size of a small pea but once i had one in my boob and i freaked out for a minute bcuz it was much bigger than im used to but it went away in a day or so. im sure ull be OK ;) but its better to be safe

When you are a female, a doctor touching your tits is the least of your worries. lol.
 
i had a lump in the same place a few months ago, it turned out to be a inverted hair and some cream cleared it up.

i am sure you have nothing to worry about, let me know how you get on :)
 
someone once told me if u find a cancer lump it doesnt hurt, in response to artistic girl :) but we should still be safe when it comes to lumps

the dr told me what it was. it was really painfull and if i tocuhed it, it hurt even more!

but after using the cream for 2-3 days it went. he just told me to keep on eye on things incase it came back. it was about the size of a pea.

what time is your appointment?
 
i will be thinking of you hun.

are you going to ask about the mole? i have one on my thigh which i am convinced has gone bigger but not sure if i am just being paranoid
 
Cant remember where I heard it but if your worried bout moles get some baking paper and draw around the mole keep it somewhere safe and pull it out every now and then to see if its changed. I always assume I'm being paranoid but thats a good way to know either way.
 
i'm here!
it turned out to be an abcess and the mole is perfectly normal.
i have antibiotics for the abcess and if it doesn't clear up within 7 days i have to go back.

i'm so relieved and glad that it's nothing serious.
