i think i know what flipmo's getting at. a lot of gang members are inticed by gangs because they do not feel welcomed/loved/comfortable anywhere else. they get a false sense of belonging from gangs, not realizing that they are as disposable as the guy they replaced. no, this does not excuse being a gang member and committing inhumane, violent acts, but what needs to be looked at is what drove these youths to the gang lifestyle in the first place.

It clearly says that gangforming is a symptom of a much larger problem. It's not like they woke up one morning and decided to shoot each other over red and blue rags.
