No, it was bad. It just went east. The places that were directly hit got ROCKED, but unfortunately there wasn't as high of a potential body count so all the poor media outlets didn't put enough people there to report on it.

Man, I saw all this on tv and discussed it with my friend. It gets to me, I mean, well all those people,.. I dont know them but its soo depressing. Its crazy come to think about it, people around here are always trying to kill each other thinking they have it rough, but when you see something as disasterous as this it makes you think how many people take their lives for granted, they dont appreciate how lucky they are. You never know when something like that is going to happen and when it does...its too late...

Thank you. Every dollar helps. The areas that were most affected by the hurricane are predominantly very poor areas. In New Orleans, specifically, the richest parts of town suffered only wind damage. The areas where the water is/was 20 feet high - those are the poor parts of town.

Oh the irony
This has to be the most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen. The countless number of people with absolutely nowhere to go. I couldn't believe it when I seen the news this morning and there were literally hundreds of people sleeping on the bare concrete road because they couldn't get back over to the Superdome. Did anyone see the man talking about his house spliting in half and he had to choose between saving his wife or his kids? How sad is that? That just broke my heart, I sat there watching it and cried. His wife telling him to get the kids yet he doesn't want to lose her either.
What gets to me the most is that this could happen right here in SC just as easily. We're definately not exempt to this very same thing happening to us being as we're a coastal state. Hugo was bad enough for us, I can't even begin to fathom what a storm like that would do here.

Man just looking at the water makes me sick. If you watch on the news and they show the helicopter view or anytime you can see a large portion of water it looks like water with oil in it or something. I hope they get people out of their fast, more deaths are still to come.
