Foxy Brown misses court hearing

Foxy Brown recently missed her hearing, excuse the pun, in Jersey City on Wednesday, but narrowly avoided a warrant for her arrest because her accuser was also a no-show.

The NY Daily News reports the trial -- the result of charges filed by Brown's former assistant, assistant Rasheeda Ellis' complaints of "terroristic threats," "harassment," "verbal abuse" and threatened "physical harm" -- was rescheduled to August 23.

If you're not familiar with the case, one of Ellis' two complaints claims that Brown "continuously calls the complainant's cell phone and E-mails her with verbal abuse, causing the complainant to fear for her safety." A second complaint says that after Ellis tried to collect a week's pay due her, Brown "went to [Ellis'] place of business with two other people looking for the complainant" and made physical threats through Ellis' cell phone.

A Jersey City court official told the paper that an arrest warrant for Brown (whose real name is Inga Marchand) wasn't issued because her accuser mistakenly went to Hudson County Superior Court and never found her way to the right courtroom. Duh.

In other Foxy Brown legal matters, she still faces charges in Manhattan Criminal Court of assaulting a New York manicurist, and has hired and fired at least three lawyers since those charges were filed more than a year ago.
