Did u get your chip soldered professionaly or did u do it yourself? Sometimes while soldering the chip in, you can mess up the internet connection, which in turn gives you problems or doesn't let you play online at all.

well, i got my xbox modded, and that, off course, fucks up internet play....so the bootleggers made a special server just for modded boxes called xbox connect....i'll ask around and see if there's something like that for ps2...

what kinda chip you got, btw?

If the version of the game your trying to play is a bootlegged version, then thats why its not working. Each online PS2 game has a unique code, but obviously when a game is copied thousands of times Sony's servers aren't going to allow all those copied version of the game to get online with the same code.

yes i can play online with my version. i have the magic chip which i installed myself.

like nick said, some games have a special code,so if its bootlegged and someone else registered with that code, then it wont allow you to register again
