You can be smart as shit, but if you're wasting it, then theres no point. You gotta use everything you know to the fullest.

Pittsey said:I didn't make the most of my education. I left school with good grades at 16, but I never applied myself and should have come out with all A's. I didn't go to college, I was troublesome and spent 2 years doing dumb stuff that could've lost me my life or seen me spend a few years behind bars. When I was 18 I fell into an apprenticeship which saw me study part-time for about 8 years. I sorted myself out and I'm now doing pretty well in the field of engineering.
However if I knew what I knew now I would have done better at school and I also would have followed higher education and on to University.
Academics aren't the most important thing in success, but to most people they're the only way you will be succesful. It's easy for me to say with hindsight, but if you don't try hard at school you are fucked. If you don't believe me listen to 2pac. Nah Mean.

A friend of mine was a promising professional footballer. He put of signing pro forms until he had completed Uni. A year after he signed he damaged his knee and could never play again. A lot of people he played with also got cut. Most never got an education. While most of them are labourers on a building site, he works in the city earning 100K + .

Anyway then a few months later I went to jail for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill (read: attempted murder) , got out on bail, got convicted of affray, got put on probation.
Then I started recording tracks with my cousin who is a famous producer, and we re-formed the band Swami, released an album "DesiRock" when I was 17, it sold shitloads independantly, we toured around the world, supported the Beastie Boys amongst loads of other shows.
Then when I turned 18 we started writing the new album, as well as re-doing the entire first album, with live instruments, and with me replacing all the vocals from the other MC that got kicked out, as well as re-doing all my ones, and we did a deal with Sony to release that in India. Then we toured India and did a $80,000 video for the lead track "DesiRock", then we headlined at the MTV Style Awards which is one of the biggest awards shows in India.
Oh, and I also bought a house and got a mortgage with the money I made off the UK release in 2004.
Now, I'm about to turn 19 (on Feb 11th), and we're in a bidding war with several major international labels for our next release, which we're hoping to get finished by the end of Feb, and get it released internationally by May, followed by a UK tour in June, and a world tour in July/August.
Fuck school, follow your dreams.
