It's 'cause it's £65k up front, which I can afford, but they won't let me sign him because I don't have the remaining £85k right now (even though I don't need it right now). I offered a bunch of players to a bunch of clubs, but nobody wanted them. I spent too much on shitty youth players who I'll probably never play because by the time they're good enough for the first team, I'll have left the club.
