im very disgusted in myself right now. I failed Macroeconomic Principles and Techniques and Elements of Finance and im fucking reeling right now. Im not surprised tho, the latter was incredibly difficult for me and i was way in over my head with that, but Macroeconomics is a prerequisite for other subjects later in my degree and now i have to repeat it.

i know that i didnt work hard this semester so many distractions and things happening in my life. but thats no excuse

someone try and make me feel better

you know what the best part of failing a class is? when you retake the class, you will already know what is going to be going on in the course and have more knowledge on the subject than the rest of the class

It's disgusted with yourself. Not in yourself. Disgusted with, disappointed in.

Failed English too?

at my school the grades were averaged if you repeated, so if you failed the best you could pull would be a C, assuming you got an unlikely A the second time around.

maybe your major isn't for you? just tossing the idea out there.

ahh silly mistake. i must have been planning to say disappointed but i guess i typed disgusted to produce a bigger effect which would encapsulate the actual extent of my feelings

i appreciate you correcting my english errors, but i don't appreciate you r attempts at mocking me in my own thread.

PuffnScruff:

yeh it has it's advantages, but im gonna have to repeat it in the summer 3 month holidays, which really blows :(

Dante:

nah i find the shit interesting, but the amount of content in macroeconomics is just overwhelming. the text book is as thick as my thigh, and the millions of formulas for all the various economical concepts and theories makes me dizzy. finance, on the other hand, i chose as an experimental elective - just to see how it was, and after 2 weeks i regretted the choice, but i needed to complete it to fulfill the amount of credit points required for the semester.. (duno if thatll make sense to you lol)

out of curiousity - what are everyones majors/ degrees?

Going in my third year with a biology major...I failed in calculus in the 1st yr then took it again in summer & got a B+ which Im happy with since i fuckin hate math. I wasnt concentrating that much in it during the term but like sum1 else posted already in the thread, it will be way easier when you retake it since u know some of the things that are required:thumb: Good luck

Economics/Political Science

I might also minor in Public Policy

I haven't taken the macroeconomics course yet though. I'm taking micro in the fall.

i was biochem with a psych minor for my first three years, but decided to switch the two and never bothered to finish up my minor credits (for biochem or sociology). there's no real point to having a minor, after all.

i also completed a master's in an offshoot of psychology, and am qualified to conduct psychodiagnostics and traditional clinical counseling, but my true area of specialization and expertise is the application of technology with psychological and cognitive consideration, such as human factors design or assistive technology for persons with disabilities.

only a semester or two to finish doctorate but i have become distracted in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. i'll finish it some time, but for now i'm a worker bee.

i can appreciate taking a course that would seem interesting and become overwhelmed. i did the same with a course for med school students that i later found out was a weed out course. i should have dropped it and taken a half semester intense class to make up the hours, but i stuck with it and it was painfully irrelevant to my major specific learning.

Don't worry man, just have faith in yourself, put in the work you need to and I'm sure you'll get back on track with your studies. Best of luck for them and hope you end up acing everything :thumb:

peace.

nah i have a lot of faith in myself. i spoke to the head of economics and he said i should pass it easy on my second go..

though now ive been withdrawen from a couple of units (which macroeconomics was a prerequisite), so i'll be doing a couple of electives not very related to my degree..

one is a study of european societies, and the other is a basic computer unit. basically im doing these 2 as well as microeconomics and demography to bring my GPA up so i can continue with the degree properly

im repeating macroeconomics in summer school :(
