.......in movies , sitcoms etc. etc. whenever people are on the phone , they never say "good-bye" to end a conversation , they always just put down the phone , what the fuck is up with this?

lol... I don't recall this at all.

Maybe you watch too many cop, detective movies. Cause when you're fighting crime and trying to solve murders, the characters aren't supposed to be polite and friendly.

It's usually a result of the conversation. The conversation usually doesn't go too well or the persons speaking don't like each other. For example, I recall always seeing some sort of "goodbye" when a boy and girl that like each other, for example, would speak on the phone.

Yea I've noticed that too, but somehow I thought maybe it's an american-thing. I've never seen somebody say; "well bye" they talk and suddenlöy they hang up.
