The other day I said that only one Bosnian was left in the CL, I completely forgot about Pjanic.

I guess I will watch that with Flipmo.

looks like the French are cheating again:

The Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal wants Uefa to force their Champions League semi-final opponents, Lyon, to play on the weekend before the second leg of that tie after the French side were granted a postponement by the French Football Association yesterday.

Lyon's match with Monaco has been moved from 24 April to 12 May allowing them more time to prepare for the second leg at the Stade Gerland. This has infuriated Bayern, who have to play against Borussia Monchengladbach in an important Bundesliga fixture three days before their trip to France.

"I will be asking my director of sport Christian Nerlinger to request that Uefa forbid the French FA from making this postponement and to reverse it," he told Munich's Tz newspaper. "The French FA thinks that this gesture makes it easier for Olympique to reach the final and I think they are right.

"Uefa has got to keep an eye on and regulate things like this. That is no longer fair play."

The postponement means Lyon have no competitive game between the first and the second legs of the semi-final.

"If Uefa organise competitions, then they have got to ensure that the conditions are the same and that is no longer the case," continued Van Gaal. "Obviously it is not possible for them to assert that everybody plays on the same day and I can understand that, but to put a game back so far is a different thing altogether.

"That should not be allowed."

Such a postponement would not be imaginable in the Bundesliga, where Bayern's request to have their clash with Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday put back only 24 hours after their Champions League victory over Manchester United was declined. The strict scheduling rules in the Bundesliga have already meant teams such as Wolfsburg and Hamburg have had to play league matches less than 48 hours after appearing in Europe as the German Football League (DFL) showed no flexibility due to regulations stipulated in a contract with television broadcasters.

In Italy, by comparison, Internazionale and AC Milan have both this season benefited from the Lega Calcio's flexibility in moving their Serie A matches to a Friday evening to give them one extra day to prepare for Tuesday night Champions League matches.

Bayern face Hannover this weekend before hosting Lyon next Wednesday. They then travel to Monchengladbach ahead of the return fixture on 27 April.

Apart from whether people think fixtures should be flexible or not, I think it's important that there's a collective regulation regarding this type of thing.

But in the current system, one should also look in the context of which the game is moved. This, what the French did, is obviously giving them a hand. It'd be different if you had a european match on wednesday and a league match on friday.
