No way, matrix was far more thought provoking for me. I only watched equilibrium not long ago but it didnt seem in any way unique or outstandish to me.

The plot of trying to control human emotions is much more mindblowing than 'living in a fake world' which has been overused in movies, in my opinion.

Maybe, I'm just looking at this from a psychological perspective, that's why I find Equilibrium a much more interessting movie.

I didn't see Equilibrium and I saw Matrix when I was fairly young, but, Matrix does rely heavily on technical spectacle to engage the audience.

What's the general idea of the movie? We are not in a world that is our own. We are like cattle being used for energy to keep the 'Machine' going.

The general overview of the movie is that everything is not what it seems. That's what I meant, I never said that was the only thing I understood about the movie. Yeah, there are many things that are put into the movie. Ideas closely ralated to philosophy, psychology and more, but I as a preference, I enjoy 'Equilibrium' much more.
