Epic 2015

Kind of cool. Be crazy if this really panned out like this. Reminds me of V for Vendetta.

if you really look at the mergers between companies in the media industry and see how many of them have come together to become a bunch of smaller companies under one big umbrella, like we have been looking at in my media and society class, this could very well happen.

i bet people 100 years ago never would have thought General Electric would become a media conglomerate

this video did make a good point about where the media is headed. i think the part about pod casting becoming more popular is true and we could very well see regular people getting their traffic reports from other regular people that live in their neighborhoods

What the hell! Will this shit actually happen?

Very likely. Aside from the company names being mentioned, techonology for what you see on the internet will continue to get better (or worse). I think they'll market things in a lot more personal way. Cellphones in the past 10 years has improved substantially. Imagine 10 years from now. Everybody will have them, I mean everybody and the little phone you'll carry around would be like a PC/TV/HD/Phone all in one. You reading this is a perfect example of how we connect to one another is getting easier.

If it was 2055, maybe, there'll be a collective mind of thousands, if not millions of people connected to a network and you can talk to them like they're in the room with you. I've always thought boards like this one was a start of a "collective mind", definitely a skitzo mind :) but it is a collections of thoughts and lack of thoughts by hundreds of people, and the difference in personalities and oninions are beautiful yet sicking if you think about it. If the technology gets better to the point where the message is instant and the people are more human/closer, we'd see some crazy shit. In Star Trek, there are aliens they call Borg and basically they're half human, half machine. and their thoughts are all connected. because this network of mind was so chaotic with different personalities, they had to erase the individuality of each Borg.
