Anyone know where I can buy some good engines from? A site or anything? That'll ship it out to a garage where they'll put it in. Some new shit. I'm looking for engines for 1998-2002 honda accord or 1998-2002 honda civic.

Any help is appreciated. Trusted websites please.

Performance would be nice, but my engines got alot of miles on it and a new engine swap option is right around the corner.

I'd love for it to have more horse power and the works, but I'm a noob when it comes to all that stuff. So I'd like some info please.

what car (specifically) do you wanna put the engine in and how much are you willing to spend? because an accord can get a jdm h22 h22a with 220hp. or a civic can take a k20a swap with a 6-speed tranny and also make 220hp. both swaps would be somewhat pricey though.

you can check ebay, honda-tech.com, passwordjdm.com, jaydm.com. youre better off buying the jdm motors. most of them have low mileage because of high taxes and insurance premiums of having high mileage engines.

JDM engines are cool, but the problem is the legality of it. You'll have an assload of trouble and headaches if you get pulled over and the cop has you pop open your hood or when you smog check it... at that point it begins to be a money pit.

The 220 hp JDM H22A is a little harder to find, since it was in the limited-production Prelude Type-S and Accord SiR. The standard H22A has a little bit less power. The 220 hp JDM K20A is also a rare engine, since it was in the RSX/Integra Type-R. However, getting a used K20A is a little pricier plus difficult to just drop into an older Honda since the K-series motors have a different setup (intake manifold up front and exhaust manifold behind the engine), but doing that will give you a fast-ass Civic... the EG6 Civic hatchbacks ('92-'95) with the 200 hp K20A motors can pull on a lot of cars from a roll. (However, an H22A Prelude motor would do the job as well, but the torque in the 2.2 liter has lead to broken axles in a few applications.)

SiGh, if your car is a Civic, you could look into the B16A (from the '99-'00 Civic Si and the '93-'97 Del Sol VTEC), the B18B (from the Integra LS) or the B18C/B18C1 (from the Integra GS-R). All of those models are easily modable. The B18B from what I remember is actually a pretty cheap engine, and a lot of people do the LS-VTEC conversion where they throw on VTEC heads onto the block along with a few other goodies (but then again, legality comes into play). If you have an Accord, then you should go for the Prelude H22A motor.

Out the door to work, I'll read the posts later on tonight, but the car is an Honda Accord 2002.

Other than these performance engines, what is available for stock engines?

THanks for the help guys, ill read both of yall posts tonight and reply.

yeah the legal thing and the price can be a pain. if you go through everything its not bad since you get a low mileage engine. but i agree, the k-series is the way to go. for more money you can get a k20 that makes 220bhp stock and will outrun a lot of modded b-series engines. the kseries is better than the b-series in just about everyway if youre going all motor. you even get the 6-speed tranny to go with it. you can just mod the hell out of a b18c5 or keep the k20a while making almost the same power and being more reliable since its stock. the h22 engines are good, the problem is the tranny. it has cable linkage. so sometimes the shifts dont go through completely. youre better off putting an adapter and putting a gsr tranny.

a b20-vtec would be pretty good too if youre gonna mod, although the kseries would be way more reliable if you wanna keep it nice and simple. they have plenty of torque and can rev at 8k and over. thats if youre gonna put it in an older hatchback or coupe. for the accord i would also say go with the h22 with a gsr or type r tranny. and if you wanna go crazy, you can make it into an h25/h27. now those make crazy power ;)

Alright I read thru it--but these are old engines? the h22a's and etc?

I was looking for a site where I can buy like newly made engines for accords or something--that comes with warranty and etc.

Like a 2007 accord engine put into my car. Is anything like that available? :(

Btw, deeznuts and cry i appreciate the time yall taking to respond.

Ah, I see. If you want a brand new motor, then the easiest place is the dealership if you want a brand new one, but it'll cost more. Most websites online sell older motors, most of which are JDM (which more than likely won't always pass smog tests, depending on which motor)

Why do you want to put an new motor in an old car, why not just get the new car. Just my thought, to me it sounds kind of dumb what you are trying to do. It's not like you would save that much money.

some are older. but the engines have low mileage and are in great condition. you can probably buy a completely rebuilt h22 with like 0 miles if you wanna buy a 4 cyl. you can buy the 07 accord v6, but its gonna be a harder to install and will cost you more money in the end if you send it to a shop, since them v6s are bigger. swapping a 4 cyl would be easier especially if you send it to a performance shop.

how much would those cost cry?
the 07 v6's? around what price?

I rather have a new engine and not worry bout shit u know?
and im at the age i really dont care about racing engines and all that whatnot, u know?

Generally speaking, buying a brand new Honda motor from the dealership (which is really the main place that has access to completely brand new motors) will cost upwards of $6k, at least. After buying a new engine like that and getting it installed in an older car, you've already spent the same amount as half of another car.

idk about the v6. i tried searching on them but couldnt find anything. the used h22a cost 2900 with the engine mounts, 2600 without them. but it comes with the entire engine (200hp, OBDI), 5 speed transmission with LSD, ecu, and the shifter cable. its a stock motor that will be reliable and good for daily driving since its torque and will be good on gas mileage. its also quick and fun since it has a 7500rpm redline and vtec.

I've talked to a few dealerships, they say they dont sell just motors.
And I didn't know it would cost around 6k. Thought a few Gs cheaper. Only reason I dont buy a new car is I spent alot of time in mines and its like one of them cars, even if u buy a new one, you dont get rid of that one.

Its special to me. :( (no homo, lol)
Newayz so even if it costs around 5k or so, I rather put a another engine in, than buy a new car.
