Rapper, producer and founder of the Definitive Jux label, El-P, has begun a blog chronicling the making of his highly anticipated album, I’ll Sleep When Your Dead.
The blog offers such insights as who will appear on the album, what equipment is being used, exclusive pictures, lyrics previews, and a look into the mind of one of the most unique minds in independent hip-hop.
This will be the second solo release from El-P who’s debut, Fantastic Damage, was so popular and that a modified version of the album, FanDam Plus soon followed containing instrumentals, remixes and videos.
El-P produced highly acclaimed The Cold Vein by Cannibal Ox and was originally part of Company Flow on Rawkus Records which he left in 2000. His involvement with artists in and outside of his artist camp are extensive, including Murs, Cage, Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif and Prefuse 73.
Ill Sleep When Your Dead, described by El-P as “a psychedelic BDP record” is due for a 2007 release.
