Ok guys, serious answers please.

Usually i buy something off of ebay germany only using bank transfer to pay the items. Its easy and safe. I never had any problems.

Now im thinking about buying something off of ebay.com and this guy is talking about some eBay buyer protection program where i have to pay via western union. Like i said, i never used anything else besides bank transfer so could anyone tell me if its safe to pay this way? (I read up on it on eBays homepage but still i want to hear some other peoples opinion.)

It's just as safe to use Western Union as a bank transfer.

But Western Union will not reimburse you if you get ripped off. Plus they charge a fairly large amount to do the transfer. Basically... It is as safe as ebay can be. Whether you pay by cash, paypal, or bank transfer..

So now i have received an invoice by eBay.

The way i understand it: I pay via western union and eBay will hold the payment until i confirm that i have received the item. If its ok they will send the fund to the real seller. Correct?

I mean, the eBay agent coming from Romania makes it seem to be suspicious.lol

Fuck Western Union. Exploiting bastards. I can't even send money to Bosnia...they take so much.

No. Don't do that. If you're ever unsure about who you're paying, use paypal, as it is easy to get your money back.

I'm not even going to read futher down this thread..so someones already probably told you, but don't part with your cash via western union, your about to get owned if you do. :thumb: I can't even begin telling you why not, those emails you have received from 'ebay' are fradulent, I can tell from what you say it says.
I am a powerseller selling mobile phones and other electrical goods. I know every trick they use, because I have had so many conmen and women. :fury:

it's not as simple as using one method or the other to safeguard yourself. TO tell people to 'use paypal as you will get you money back' is somewhat cdorrect but flawed in so many other ways.

Reading you post, if I was uninformed, I would now be mis-informed. There are many variables in how you deal on ebay, feedback, previous bids, buying price (if it's too good to be true, it probably is) etc. Simply using paypal, is no guarentee of refunds.

Paypal over other payment methods.

I don't mean ppl should buy off sellers they otherwise wouldn't and just use paypal as a means of protection. I simply meant to explain (not very well) that if buying an item where an paypal is offered, use it instead of direct transfers because of the additional protection it gives.
