Im off rez. so i dont get the school's meal plan and all, so i gotta buy groceries myself. As most of you know, moneys tight in such situations, so what do you usually buy when you go grocery shopping?

cheese, bread, peanut butter, butter. if you want microwavable meals pizza pockets and pizza bagels do wonders :thumb:

Honestly, go to the store and buy shit you'll eat. But dont buy all junk food. Dont go buying lettuce and tomato if you're never gonna make urself a salad or sandwich and shit. Its just a waste.

Buy the essentials (Milk, Fruits & etc) plus a few junk food.
Now that you're living alone, you'll find out, generic brands are ur friend.

ready meals and shit may be easier but it's cheaper and healthier to cook some proper shit.

Get lots of roman noodles. You can add things to them like hot dogs, sausage patties, etc. LOL. Get the basics like lunch meat, cereal, and bread. Cheese is a luxury now. Peanut butter and jelly. Small filling things. Little instant oatmeal packages.

*I miss being poor and on campus trying to eat, lol*

egg beaters, lunch meat and cheese, fruit, bread, peanut butter and strawberry jelly, sometimes a frozen pizza usually tonys or something cheap, and some cheap frozen food microwave deals like 2 for 4 dollar kind of thing, kool aide, o.j.

not always all of that in one trip

ya thats what ive been getting actually. I was kinda hoping one of you would come up with a crazy sick idea...but naw. What you guys mentioned is what i usually get aswell. Mr. Noodles, milk, cereal, eggs, wonder bread, jam, butter and various frozen foods. I also buy a couple of apples and some yogurt just cause i feel bad eating garbage, so that should cancel eachother out quiet nicely.

Only new suggestions I have is off brand foods. When you get REALLY hungry you'll get creative. I remember eating cheese and hot sauce in a tortilla. I always had shredded cheese for some reason. And if you have fruit juice (not o.j.) dilute it with water...that might sound gross but if you're like me and drink a lot of juice it's better for you.

sometimes i feel like ballin' out and buying a $30 T-Bone steak, but instead, i buy something like 3 12-packs of beef patties

Kraft dinner sometimes...rolo ice cream now and then..pepsi too...you have to have pepsi :thumb:

When I lived alone, I ate the most disgusting and hamrful food ever.. but it was good..

hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers, mac and cheese, chips and dip, hot dogs, pizza, hambugers, candy, ice cream, pizza, hot dogs, chips and dip, candy , ice cream etc..

sometimes i will buy a couple pounds of beef and make some burgers on my george forman grill. i dont know if you have a freezer or not but i would just freeze the burgers i didnt eat that night at then eat them through out the next couple of weeks

Just bu meat, chicken, spaghetti and stuff and cook your own food, buying fast food will kill your economy. Always buy in bulk and freeze stuff. It's possible to eat on about 15$ a week, I lived like that all summer.

No, but I ate the same foods almost everyday (something like rice and chicken, or hamburgers, the stuff I could get relatively cheap) and I ate oatmeal for breakfast. It kinda sucked, but if you're broke you do what you have to.

The last week I was living alone abroad I basically took out a calculator, a pen and a pad and started to see how I could survive on 20$ for that week... on the pad, I baught food down to the last penny... and well, sometimes when money ain't enough you gotta play sticky sticky
