that sounds a bit too high lol. i wouldn't go higher than 9.0 but I haven't kept up to date.

Lol of course it seems high. I was watching one of those future disaster shows on discovery or something and they said thay. Probably just predicting the absolute worst. 8 or 9 is probably way more realistic, either way its crazy to think about

Reminds me of the Adelaide Earthquake. Basically the same outdoor furniture picture was going around at that time. Twitter had a #I survived the Adelaide Earthquake tag.

Even so, it was a tiny quake and it rattled our house and the rumble was insane. I couldn't imagine one that was actually a size of any respectability.

Some relatively minor ones and only one or two affected some less protected places in the city that nobody cares about.
When on TV they were saying how the water level in the river was so much higher than the usual and there was a "deadly wave" approaching I got there to see it only to laugh, since it was almost normal, perhaps less than a meter higher than usual. Of course it was enough to flood some villagers further from the city.
