A single shot managed Friday to bring drama to Memphis rapper Yo Gotti’s birthday/album release party.

"A shot was fired and one individual was shot in the abdomen," said Memphis Police Sgt. Vince Higgins. The wounded man is reportedly in stable condition after being shot around 3:00AM Friday at the Plush Club in Memphis.

Witnesses say that a disagreement between two parties inside the club resulted in one group of men leaving, only to return, run over security and fire a single shot. Among the almost eight hundred attendees were, reportedly, men wearing T-shirts reading negative remarks about Yo Gotti. The single bullet also struck two other individuals who sustained minor injuries. Police are urging witnesses to break the pervasive "No Snitching Anytime" code.

"Let's face it, there were hundreds of witnesses," Higgins said. "Someone saw what happened. Someone saw who fired the round. We'd like for them to come forward." Yo Gottii and another Memphis rapper, Miscellaneous, had been at odds, some speculate because the former recently recorded a song entitled "Memphis Walk" and Miscellaneous released the first version two years ago, but Miscellaneous’ manager says the two rappers squashed the beef before the party.

Yo Gotti’s lawyer also denies that his client is responsible for the shooting in any way. "Yo Gotti's very dismayed at what happened the other night," said Gotti's attorney Arthur Horne. "He doesn't condone that type of behavior and feels as though it was irresponsible, but does not have any control over what individuals do in that kind of setting."

Yo Gotti’s new album, Back 2 Da Basics, comes out this Tuesday and features Baby, Lil' Wayne, Bun B. and others.
