look, the non-white population in America during the 1930s was 4.7%, could you really expect more than maybe 15-20 black players having any impact compared to the average white MLB player back then?

MLB back then was best players of the 95% white population

the negro leagues was the best players of the 5% population

MLB had 19x more talent to choose from. just think about it before replying

y'all act like there are tons of great black players in the league right now...i remember ESPN talking about how Dontrelle Willis might make the sport popular again among the black youth, which is more interested in basketball and football right now

truth is, most of the great players in baseball right now are either white or latino, with a few exceptions (like bonds and sheffield)

btw, before you say like david ortiz is black, he's not techniquely.. he's domincan, which is considered latino
