I have, don't remember to who, but neg reps for idiotic statements, pure ignorance etc. Not for disagreements of course, but for idiots, yes.

I think i neg repped this post (in a "look at this new car" thread) because it has no meaning at all, shows only ignorance and had no worth being posted. But i usually only neg rep people when i'm in a bad mood.

But the whole (negative) rep system is vulnerable to abuse.

No you didnt. Neg reps are red and give you negative points. What you got were gray reps which mean you were + repped but received 0 points for them (prob coz they didnt have high enough reps themselves at the time to give any out).
