From automobile talking about the new command system in new mercedes cars
Mercedes engineers confided in us that, in focus group testing, Americans had a far lower aptitude for mastering complex control systems than European and Japanese testers, and they tried to find a happy solution for all with slight regional software differences but the same overall system layout. Time will tell if Americans warm to the admittedly complex controller.

are you stupid? The article says that they find it difficult to learn complex controls. what's armpits and hygene got to do with it? lol. and it says the Japanese had more ability to master complex controls, so why pick on Europeans?

Are you so insecure with yourself that something like this means that you have to jump on the defensive so hard?

I'd have a hairy armpit over some 500 lbs obese bitch any day.

So crawl back to your burrow again :)

lol @ the article. Trust the Benz boys to dig up some startling facts.

^bahahah!
What everyones problem. The Benz boys did some testing and found this conclusion. This was actually posted on a Mercedes benz forum and a BMW forum by me and most of the US guys accepted that they prefer simpler buttons to gadgetry which they hate. Most said they will complain about the computer systems simply becasue they don't like complex controls where simpler more 'ergonomic' buttons would suffice.

The European guys were more welcoming to all the functions of the car being placed into such a command control or 'i-drive' system in order to have a more cleaner looking dash. US guys preferred buttons all over the place like a 747 cockpit.

Hell, if there were that many buttons though Americans again would be confused :D

hehe, i must say i'd agree with the conclusion for the europeans. I'd prefer a clean looking dash with a couple of buttons or whatevers that would allow me to acces the functions.

However, i must say i also tend to agree with

Ergonomics all the way! But however again, i would HATE a button infested interior.

So, basically, when the options of the car are really plentiful and complex, give me a system or two which allows me to acces most functions. I wouldn't want a button for every single function.
