He had 2 different type of tapes:
1. He would Screw rap songs (Snoop Dog, Warren G etc.).
2. He would put out mixtapes by members of his "group" (Screwed Up Click a.k.a S.U.C) in screwed format. These were original recordings, 99% of which were all freestyles. Most tapes were kinda like underground solos. These tapes built names for the artists & in many cases were the reason they blew up (e.g. Lil Flip).

A lot of people hate on the screwed sound, but its pretty cool if its done right.
