the quality of international football is nowehere near the same of that of club teams (especially if your talking premiership). so people who think the best players get picked for their country and play at the highest level and assume that the quality of the games are going to be better and a whole lot more entertaining are wrong.

I never said that. I just prefer to watch World Cup games as it's a bigger deal, people get more emotional which is funny to watch, and it only happens every 4 years.
And I still prefer Ronaldinho.

Basically, they're feeling what you feel. When their team wins they have a ball that night, it's an overall experience of joy and happiness that might be comparable to you getting on stage. Now that it went to shits it's another two years before the opportunity rises again with another Euro or World Cup. I'll go out on a limb and suggest that if it wouldn't make you cry, I'm pretty sure you would do something drastic if the India tour got postponed four years, eh?
