Celebrity Cooking Showdown, a new mini-series created by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Ben Silverman and David A. Hurwitz will be screened on NBC this April. The show is the culmination of Diddy’s business expansions and the increased popularity of celebrity-based reality TV.
The week long cooking battle pits A-list celebrities with world class chefs which include Wolfgang Puck, Cat Cora and Govind Armstrong. The celebrities are trained for three days, and then have a culinary battle with each other in a timed three course cook-off. The three finalists will then try to out-cook each other in the final episode which will determine the overall master celebrity chef. Although other celebrities are still expected to announce their involvement, Diddy has stated Celebrity Cooking Showdown is definitely “not out of my space.”
"The sexiest trend going on right now is young men learning how to cook," Diddy said. "There's nothing more sensual than a man cooking for his woman. We wanted to do something that fit that trend in the marketplace."
Ben Silverman said, "We've been desperate to do cooking in primetime, and who's more primetime than Diddy?"
This will be the fourth TV show for Diddy, who also owns two restaurant chains.
