if you use your debit carsd to buy something off the net,do you get a serivce charge for using your debit card?

i bought something off ebay and i got a service charge but i think thats paypal that charged me

so i was wondering if i was charged for using the debit card or for using paypal

also is it posssible in ebay not to use paypal,coz i bought something for like £180 and i was charged around £25& i didnt even know about the £25 till my statement came

what did you buy for 180? it costs to use paypal, $5 every transaction if i'm not mistaken. also, you probably have to do the expanded use program thing too which also costs about $5. the $25 you were charged was probably for shipping and such as the actual prize you pay for the auction is only for the item, and does not include shipping. every auction has shipping information.

usually there isn't a service charge when you use debit cards, you normally only get a service charge when you use a credit card

i bought a mobile fone for £180-yea probably the delivery charge was included.

There's no service charge on paypal for buyers.
You can use a credit card, debit card or bank account. Paypal is free to buyers.

You only pay a fee as a seller.
