Okay so I'm on the phone with a customer, she just bought the Nokia 6300 and she tells me she has no idea what to do. She didn't know there were directional keys. She could see that she had X number of new messages, but how could she access them, she asked me. Then she starts talking about there being a bunch of messages and basically, she was being vague. I was trying to form an idea of what her actual problem was so I could help her. I tell her to push the red button to make sure we are on the start screen and we'll take it from there (I was gonna tell her step by step how to access the SMS inbox). The call hangs up...

Wtf lol. I thought she was using another phone!

Lol...ur posed to ask them first :p
Whenever I call about my phone somebody in another country always asks "Are you calling from another phone."
I have to help my boss send text messages and she's had her phone for about 5 years...the same exact phone

lmao, i really am lmao right now just saying that. was this an old lady? i mean isn't it common knowledge in this day and age that the red button ends the call

hahaha lmao at that. I was working for Orange and I had a bunch of situations when people didn't know how to use their phones. I can't picture how could somebody not now how to access inbox in Nokia :p People know Nokias are the easiest to use so usually old people buy them and then say they're unable to use it. Some situations are really dumb when people argued that there can't be "*" in a phone number. Man was so serious about it, he was so sure and manifested it so loud that I though he'll kill me over that lol
he was swinging his fists in front of my face. Like he was about to punch me. I was in uncomfortable situation but still I repeated that there is "*". I think he nearly had a heart attack there lmao
To be clear in Orange there are numbers that start with "*"

yup

a less favorable trend among customers in the electronics market is the new service procedures. basically, distributors don't handle service anymore, the customer calls the developer directly on a hotline and do the whole thing themselves. it's easier because it's faster and they get information along the way. but here's where a lot of people seem to think that since they bought the item in a certain store, that certain store owes it to them to have it fixed even though the store is just a customer of a distributor who is a customer of a developer lol. i actually think it's fucking unfair that some people are allowed to have this opinion, but that's a different story.

it's faster, it's easier, it's better for you. if you ever find yourself in this situation, trust me, do as the salesman tells you to (if he does) and do the thing yourself. hewlett packard are great. if your printer is malfunctioning they try to help you over the phone, if it doesn't work a guy delivers a new printer for you and you put the old one in the box and the guy takes it with him and leaves. that > having the store send your shit in for you, trust me.

you're not supposed to take that. a customer makes an aggressive, hostile move of any kind towards me that can be taken as challenging, i will tell him "do that again and i will put you to the floor, for now, get the hell out of my store".

oh shit, that even rhymed.

jokes aside, if a customer does that you have the right to take a few steps back and tell him you're sorry, but he's gonna have to leave now. and if he doesn't, you are allowed to call the police. and if he tries to go at you you have the right to defend yourself.

yeah I know but the guy was really old and I was intelectually destroying him. He was so irritated, I pissed him off repeating that he's wrong and that I am right that he simply couldn't take it. He nearly exploded there, I knew that what pissed him the most is that I remained calm and responded with a smile on my face, with confidence etc. If he'd attack me I'd take my opportunity to "defend myself" ;)

I don't work there any more, they pay shit and it's a bad kind of job. Usually sellers ale told to talk shit about phones and plans and sell terrible shit, plans people don't need and won't use at all etc. I feel sorry for old people who buy phone just to talk with their sons/daughters who are convinced they have to pay a lot and then end having a SonyEricsson k850i with 50$/month - 24month plan when in reality all they need is the cheapest 10$ Nokia with 10$/month plan with free 2-3 numbers. Here you can't tell them to buy something cheaper, conversations are recorded and you can't say that the cheapes plan is enough.
