Creating Beats

Just wondering if anyone here produces beats and if so what equipment do you use? Programs like Fruity Loops or Reason or do you have a different set up.

Yea, I downloaded a trial version of Reason 3.0 and that program seems confusing as hell. I had no idea how to make sounds with it or to really do much but look at it, click random things that did nothing and that's about the extent of it.

reason is good for people that know how to patch everything in the right way. if you dont know how patching works, then it is pretty much pointless. learn signal flow and reason will make sense and be easy to use

ye i use reason and had no musical experience pretty much and i found it easy u just gotta give it a little time...pretty much u create a redrum and load a drum kit which gives u all ur drum and bass sounds except for like a bassline...then the nn-xt (under create also), has most of the sounds u will use for hip-hop style beats...u choose a sound on the nn-xt for ex, play wat u want on ur keyboard with the sound, record it, and then put ur drums in...or vice versa...then u got the subtractor (also under create) whcih has like more bass and synth patches to load...its pretty easy a lotta big time producers starting to use it since its got everything they need on the computer prettty much...lemme know if u got any questions

trial & error, thats how i learned.

reason is good i use that and fruity loops plus i'm saving up to buy a new keyboard of some sorts....plus me n' my cuzzins just finished about half of our new material....all beats produced me...maybe by the end of this weekend i can have all of our new shit uploaded not to mention some free beats i've been meaning to upload to soundclick too

i use Reason 3 , MPD16 , Evolution MK425c keyboard. :thumb: reason is awesome just takes a bit of figuring out
