didnt read ne of what you said... but from what i take the pic as is....

all these mainstream, popular, sellout, fake, commercial what ever you wanna call them they are taking 2pac to where they are (by the flames meaning a bad place). so its not taking the piss out of pac... its how bad things people are doing to him... well that what i thought.

but if its not. does it matter? NO!! IT IS ONLY A PAINTING!!

i agree, but i don't like the vague and loose associations. you shouldn't need the artist present to explain his choices to you in order to appreciate a piece.

ehh, just because you and a few others aren't able to understand the connections doesn't mean there is none. There are countless great artists who have created works which go above many people's heads. a good painting is not defined by what makes sense, but whatever it means to people and how it impacts them. the message can be interpretted.

I really like the 1st painting, probably because it has so many mysterious symbols. perhaps the artist has reached a deeper conclusion about tupac's legacy? It makes me want to go out and research... but then again, i'll take the easy route and just wonder cuz i'm too lazy

if u looked through the thread, research has been done, i posted the pics that inspired the artist for these paintings. These r copies of 2 paintings of jesus, symbolizin the pac is "black Jesus". readin other people posts is a good thing to do before u post, or u end up soundin silly

oh sillyness, i have gone through the posts, and it was wayyyyyyy obvious right from looking at it as to the references to jesus. when i said research, i meant all the allusions and symbols which seem to have no apparent connection. there may be more to these works than simply putting it as "tupac=black jesus." All the characters displayed, and the choice of colors, positions, and the smallest of details all probably have a deeper meaning/connection. If someone can really rack his brains and figure that out, i will be impressed. in the meantime, i'll remain lazy.
