Construct a Rap Song

I would like to know some good websites that can show you how to construct a rap song. How to write down 16 bars and make it sound good. Thanks. :thumb:

i don't rap but...

All you gotta do is keep listening to the music. After you listen to rap for a long ass time, you sorta just understand the flow, how the words fit with the beat, wordplay, diction, etc. Eventually, you'll just find yourself freestyling in your head without even thinking about it. It just becomes sort of a natural thing after a while, because you listen to so many lyrics, so many rappers, and so many different styles that you sort of "become a rapper" in a sense, just by listening to the music.

check your local book store, there really are good books out there on music theory. thats all you need to look for on the net or in paperback is music theory. some colleges have music theory classes. i dont know how old you are but its something to keep in mind.

other than that pay attention to rap songs, how they are put together, the arrangement and so forth. and learn how to count like a musician.

^its cool, i would try and break it down for you but i dont know that much about it to teach some else. i should since i've been playing music since i was 10 but i'm be learning all about it and more when classes start for me next month

Download your favorite unreleased Tupac songs.

Study them

Jack the theme and title.

Get some girl you know to sing the hook.

Jack a sample from the mid to early 90s westcoast sound, add a new york twist, hard base line.

Rap about shit that is totally not related to anything Tupac taught, but make sure its relevent to the hook, which should appear to be deep.

Diss at least three established artists on it.

Shit talk in the outro.

Release.

Worked for Ja, 50, P and a bunch of others ;).

i'm pretty sure that there is nothing and nobody who can show you how to make a song sound good....that all depends on your creativity...and writing 16 bars is easy....once you figure out what a bar is....it has to do with the beat...usually when the beat loops and starts from the begining that is 2 bars....but the way i count bars is to count 4 seconds and that is 1 bar...so what i'll do is count like 1...2...3...1, 1...2...3...2, 1...2...3...3, 1...2...3...4 and so on until i get to 16

and you can have either a 4 bar or a 8 bar chorus and they're counted the same exact way
