Technology Comp doesent recognize dvd burner

i cant see my dvd burner or dvd player anymore like they just disapeared on my comp i try'd to start up in my bios and set it to Auto but still nuthin also checked all wires and they got power they still eject and and shit but my comp dont find them anymore any help please ?(Edit) there still the same dvd burner and player since i got the pc just one day i start up my comp and they gone
 
Go to your control panels click on system, click on the hardware tab, click on device manager and check if you don't have an "x" on your CD/DVD drives.

Also see if you can update your drivers for the DVD Burner even the firmware if you can. Make sure if you are updating your firmware to read the instructions properly or you can fry your DVD Burner.
 
supercuz, u got a virus man. ive seen this happen alot.

go to start,programs,accessories,system tools, system restore

then choose the day before your dvd or whatever stopped working, it should work fine then.
 
That depends, when you first start your PC are the drives recognised in the BIOS start up screen? If they are then it is a Windows problem or a virus.

If not then it is either a hardware problem or a setting within the BIOS.

Just check if the BIOS sees the drive first.
