The bassline is fucking disgusting, some Low End Theory shit.When the other instruments come in... and then those strings, and the beat drops. I'm glad Kanye got some real drums. God damn, those fucking strings - are Dr. Dre and Eminem paying attention? This is how you create emotion with them, not those lame tired pseudo-Goth shits you think are so cool. My face still twists up when I hear that shit, and I've played this shit at least twenty times. As for Common's verse... what was Rakim going to call his last album again? This is the best intro I've heard since the intro to Jay-Z's Dynasty. Young is fucking RAPPING.
