Anyone into collecting things?

If so, why? To actually collect, or sell it in the future?

My dad has a TON of NBA cards in mint condition, as well as original toy story stuff.

Some old guy was trying to sell me a Jackie Robinson signed magazine in his rookie year, but there is no certificate of authenticity...

Yep.

I collect most things to do with my favorite artists, namely, Prince, Michael Jackson/The Jacksons, Tupac and Nirvana.

Picasa Web Albums - S-Endz AKA Casey ...

The shelf in the middle of that photo is my Prince shelf, and probably contains about 50% of my Prince stuff (the other 50% being digital audio and video, posters and clothing).

On the left hand side you've got albums in chronological order, about 70 of them, including duplicates. Starting with his debut, "For You" from 1978 all the way up to 2009's "Lotusflow3r/MPLSoUND".

Not including duplicates there's close to 50 albums....yep...he's that prolific.

On top of the albums you've got CD singles. The earliest CD single on there dates to 1989, it's "Batdance" from the soundtrack album he did to Tim Burton's "Batman" movie. There may have been some CD singles from 1988's "Lovesexy" album that I need to get but prior to that, all the singles were on vinyl. The most recent CD singles there are "Fury" and "Black Sweat" from 2006's "3121" album. On the end of those you've got a few albums by people associated with Prince, like The Time and Jesse Johnson, and a couple of rare promo cassettes that are still sealed, because I don't even have a cassette player, plus I have audio rips of what's on them anyway.

In front of the CD's there some box sets, some "3121" incense and "3121" perfume which were both sold on the 2007 Earth tour residency in London that I went to. A T-Shirt that I bought there is on the shelf too, but the other clothing I have is in my wardrobe. To the right of the CD's there's books. tour books, DVD's, VHS, and to the far right, vinyl. I'm not much of a vinyl collector so I probably only have 25-30 vinyls.

The shelves below and above have a lot of Michael Jackson, Nirvana and 2Pac stuff. But they aren't organized or all in one place. I need to think about organizing those a bit better.

I might sell some the duplicate stuff I have, but I don't intend to sell anything else.

^^i used to. not any more though.

i love those football sticker albums we used to get as kids. The Merlin Premier League ones and the Panini World Cup ones.

Actually i was half thinking of getting the Panini album for this World Cup but i dont think i could bear sticking on Henry's sticker.

@Casey, that's a lot of Prince stuff! Chronological Order? I bet you get pissed if people try and touch it, let alone not put it back correctly. haha.

@Flipmo I actually had to google footy kits. lol. (yah, fail).

I used to collect Upper Deck/Flair NBA cards when I was younger. I had every card for 10 seasons. My step mother put all but one folder in the trash. I also collected Pokémon cards, I had so many rare cards from Japan, I sold them a few years back for £200.

At the moment I collect Bleach merchandise, its the biggest selling Manga in this century so far, i'm gonna keep it all and in a couple of decade its gonna be worth a dickload of money.

LOL. Yeah, just another way of saying soccer jerseys. I don't really collect them to sell em, it's something I always liked, even as I kid I'd get them (sadly a lot of them were thrown out, some were great). Problem is that they can get expensive (maybe a reason why Bobby stopped), but it's something you buy over time, that's how I do it.

Classic Football Shirts

This side is great for that. I showed it to Bobby a while ago, if you can find some really old (and match worn) jerseys, they can be sold easily for 500-600$ depending.

I collect ears.

I collect girlfriends.

No, I don't really collect things anymore, but I have a lot of CDs and movies on DVD (all by Prince, of course).

^ of course, keeping DVDs/CDs in order is for losers :P

There's nothing wrong with a little organisation. It's easier to find things that way.

Your mother is very organised. It did not take me long to locate her G-spot.

Wow you take your organisation skills seriously.

Anyway, like I said before... Ill refrain from talking about your mother :thumb:

Aside from collecting 2pac stuff i collect blurays and dvd's. I got between 700 and 800 dvd/blurays in total at the current moment. Have too much 2pac shit to list shit load of singles/promos along with promo posters for every album except for 2pacalypse Now (have never been able to find one). I also collect various Death Row Records items but it's mostly just random stuff here and there.

I collect memories through memories. I've also kept a few tangibles over the years for nostalgic reasons.

i used to collect pokemon and dragonball z cards. for a few years i collected warhammer 40000 miniatures and painted them and all that shit.

i did collect DVD's but i dont have my collection anymore
