Hey guys, the magazine I write at is doing a top 50 classic hard core albums list and asked for our input on what we think.

We're talking about real street albums, not Get Rich Or Die Tryin, although I'd throw Power Of The Dollar in there. Real shit.

Something like Thug Life. Raw shit. Makaveli. Power Of The Dollar. Old school Ice Cube, NWA.

So what I am asking, is what are your favorite hardcore REAL albums of all time?

Could you clarify what you mean by hardcore street album?

When I think hardcore, I think of violent east coast rap that was a reaction to The Chronic, but you seem to have something else in mind since you're offering N.W.A. and Cube as examples. Albums to cook crack to?

Well see I found the definition hard as well, I originally said things like Paris's Sleeping With The Enemy because that is what is hard core to me.

But yes, like DUB CEE said, gutter hood street shit I guess.

Early Onyx perhaps.

Just, "hardcore", but not mainstream hardcore. LOL. Its hard to class it really.

Limn, pick one Brotha Lynch Hung album ;)
I'd say Loaded then, as opposed to Season. More polished/professional sounding. Vocals are much clearer, the album flows together better than Season did & the features are better. Whole album's just more matured and much more polished. So Loaded gets my pick.

Every other South Central L.A album.
Gangsta The Comrad - Fuck All Yall (original released under the "G.a.n.g.s.t.a" alias and the album was called "Wanted")
Menace Clan - Da Hood
Gangsta Dre - Gang Banging Poetry (The Sequal)

too many to name, but these are the ones i've been bumping recently.

Matured and more polished a better pick for a 'hardcore street' album?
If making a top 50 list I wouldn't include any Lynch album. His lyrics are hardcore but I wouldn't define his overall sound as hardcore street. M.O.P would be a far more accurate pick for example despite the level of gore in Lynch's music.

Some that (I think) haven't been mentioned:

AP.9 - Headshotz / Worldwide Mob Figa
Blackjack - Addicted to Drama
C-BO - Gas Chamber / Tales from the Crypt / Til My Casket Drops
Dosia - Waiting to Inhale
Facemob - The Other Side of the Law
The Jacka - The Jack Artist
Kausion - South Central Los Skanless
Havoc & Prodeje - Kickin' Game / Livin' in a Crime Wave
Killa Tay - Snake Eyes
Lunasicc - Mr. Lunasicc
Mad CJ Mac - True Game
C-BO's Mob Figaz (that's the name of the album)
X Raided - Psycho Active / The Xorcist / The Unforgiven Vol. 1
Yukmouth's 2 first albums

Too much of a headache to think about more
