^probably not.
I will tell you why...
First, someone like Missy wouldn't be with someone like Chris Brown...
Chris Brown captured the audience with his innocence and his background with everyone having the understanding that his mom went through a marriage of beatings.
His music is about kiss kissing girls lovely, not fucking them and shit, so he doesn't have the bad image a rapper might have.
Now, onto Rihanna.
She seems more delicate b/c of the weight (just look @ her bones) and she is younger.
Someone this delicate going through a 'vicious beating' would seem more shocking than a typical ugly/fat woman that probably deserved it. (Society views ugly/fat women to be more common.)
Therefore, this situation had the formula of it being completely un-common.
If you were to say someone like Lil Kim vs Scott Storch, it wouldn't be a shocker. Lil Kim raps about a bad life in rap, and no one knows Scott Storch.
Basically, like the Joker said in Batman...
"It's all part of the plan."
No one is shocked to see someone asking for trouble get in trouble, but everyone is shocked to see someone asking for nothing get in tons of trouble.
That's the exact reason why all the celebs that were being interviewed from Tupac: Resurrection were not shocked Tupac got shot again.
Even on this forum, if say, Caesar starts acting childish that would result in SicC banning him, it would be more shocking then some mod or member getting banned.
Another example,
Barrack Obama was seen as 'not part of the plan' b/c of his image. America rather have a stuttering white fool than a more sophisticated president... but the plan is changing....all b/c the economic crisis. He just happened to be the symbol for something we need right now, a change.
and the plan should change, everyone should be shocked that anyone ever got beat in the first place, not just the fact that it was a woman either.
Until then, nothing is shocking, unless it's against the plan.
