Recent press reports have linked St Louis based rapper Chingy to a murder-suicide by bodyguard Michael Cannon.
Michael Cannon shot and killed his girlfriend and their seven-year-old son, and then turned the gun on himself last Thursday (Jan. 5). Reports stated he was Chingy's former bodyguard.
But Chingy wants the public to know the man didn't work for him, and released the following statement through his publicist Courtney Barnes.
"Chingy would like the press to correct recent statements about the murder-suicide committed by Michael Cannon. While Chingy is an acquaintance of Cannon's and is saddened by the tragic events, Cannon never served as his bodyguard. This correction will also help stem the massive tide of calls coming in to Chingy's longtime security guard from people believing the story was about him."
